Irish Soda Bread
Ingredients
- 2 cups Baking Free Gluten-Free all purpose flour (248 g)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 1 cup buttermilk
Note
Make your own buttermilk anytime by combining 1 cup milk (or almond milk) and 2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar. Let stand 10 minutes at room temperature.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. | |

Grease a 9 inch round cake pan. | |

Combine the dry ingredients in a large bowl. | |

In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg and buttermilk. | |

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the wet. | |

Stir just until combined. Pour into the prepared cake pan. | |
Step 7 | |
Bake for 65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. | |

Cool on rack for 10 minutes in the pan. | |
Step 9 | |
Remove from pan and serve slightly warm. Cut into 8 pieces. |
