Pepperoni Pizza Dip with Gluten-Free Pizza Crust Dippers
 
Ingredients

  • 3 cups Baking Freeā„¢ gluten-free all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • 1¼ cup warm water (divided)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
Dip
  • ¾ cups pizza sauce
  • 8oz cream cheese, cut in pieces
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

  1. Basically, you are making a pizza dough. Mix yeast in ¾ cup warm water and let stand for a couple of minutes. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of sugar after 3 minutes to encourage yeast activation.
  2. In the bowl of a stand mixer, measure flour, salt, baking powder and remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar. Mix on low speed. Add the yeast mixture and gently mix until the dough comes together. Add the remaining water and 1 tablespoon olive oil--if wanted.
  3. Once dough is together, spray a small ice cream dipper with cooking oil and scoop out balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment. I made 15 balls with this recipe. Place trays in refrigerator for 20 minutes as the dough will rise a bit. If you want, brush the tops with a bit of olive oil to encourage the browning.
  4. Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Place trays of pizza crust balls in the oven and bake for about 15-18 minutes, until browning.
Dip
  1. Meanwhile, make the dip in a small sauce pan or 8-inch frying pan. Heat pizza sauce and cream cheese, stirring to melt the cream cheese. Once most is melted, add the mozzarella cheese and stir. Try to have the pizza crust balls ready at this time. Serve dip in bowl surrounded with balls.
