Easy Naan Bread
  • 1½ cups warm water (100-110 degrees)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups Baking Freeā„¢ gluten-free All Purpose Flour (372 g)
  1. Combine warm water, sugar and yeast in a bowl. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. In the bowl of a stand mixer with a paddle, mix flour and salt. Slowly stream in the yeast mixture while mixer is on medium. Once the dough comes together, turn the mixer off.
  3. Put dough into a well-oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Place in a warm area and let rise 30-45 minutes.
  4. Start heating up iron griddle or fry pan. Heat until almost smoking.
  5. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and divide into 8 pieces. With floured hands shape one piece into disc about ¼ inch thick. Shake off extra flour and place in hot skillet. Bake 2 minutes on first side. Flip and bake 1-2 minutes on second side. Place on plate and cover with cloth. Continue with remaining pieces of dough. Serve warm. Makes 8 pieces of naan bread.
